Our Commitment to Every Child’s Bright Beginning

We promise to nurture, protect, and guide each child with love, intention, and unwavering care.

WALDORF SCHOOL OF KENYA LOWER PRIMARY CURRICULUM GUIDE

A beautiful, holistic journey where learning is introduced through imagination,
creativity, movement, and deeply meaningful experiences that engage both the heart
and the mind.

GRADE TWO

In Grade Two, learners build confidently upon the literacy and numeracy foundations
established during Grade One. Grade Two continues to nurture confident, independent
learners while strengthening social awareness, creativity, resilience, and a lifelong
enthusiasm for discovery.

Advanced Literacy

Reading becomes more fluent as children continue developing their writing skills through stories, poems, and creative compositions. Language lessons expand to include word families, spelling patterns, sentence construction, and poetry.

Rhythmic Mathematics

Mathematics expands through continued practice of the four operations. Multiplication tables are dynamically introduced through rhythmic movement, songs, games, and handson activities that make learning enjoyable and memorable.

Social & Character Development

At around eight years of age, children develop a
stronger sense of individuality while learning
cooperation, empathy, and responsibility. The
curriculum reflects this via inspiring stories of
courageous, compassionate, and wise
individuals alongside traditional fables exploring
moral choices.

Nature & Artistic Expression

Nature studies, music, painting, movement, and
practical activities remain central to daily
learning. These elements intentionally
encourage deep observation, creative
imagination, and fine artistic expression across
all subjects.
